Commercially used stamps from the Channel Islands and Isle of Man are very popular as you might imagine, but very hard to come by given the tiny population of the Islands. The next category in the Machin cylinder block offers takes us back to the first issues of decimalisation from1971/3. All of these stamps are phosphor banded, and they are distinguishable by both gum and paper type. The most obvious variation is gum type. Gum Arabic is very shiny, whilst PVA gum has a creamy hue compared to the later dextrin gum which has a distinct greenish tinge (dextrin blocks are not included in this selection as these have been offered regularly in previous lists). World War 2 covers are always extremely interesting. This item combines four different but linked covers, issued by Canada to commemorate its role in the Alliance. The four covers were issued in subsequent years from 1991/4 to mark the 50th Anniversary, and each of the four features a detailed information panel- bilingual naturellement - to complement the original stills on the reverse. The stamps on their own catalogue fairly highly. These will be supplied with 16different covers from the Marshall Islands - a strategically important base for the American forces. These are from a long set of single stamp issues. The Marshall Island covers you receive may vary from those illustrated. The illustrations feature different campaigns which are described in more detail on the reverse of the envelope.20 different WW2 covers for just £19.95.

This is an unusual offer. We have come across a quantity of Marshall Island sheetlets, each containing a series of 15 stamps chronicling a decade of the twentieth century in a very original fashion.
