Dear Client,

We have been searching and accumulating and think that the batch of flyers that we are sending out over the next few weeks are really  some of our best yet.

We are keeping the letters brief this month as the request which we are making is the primary message.

Many of you have access to email. We are constantly frustrated when we have only small stocks of items suitable for these special offers by finding ourselves caught between two stools. Not enough stock to justify an offer on its own, and no suitable way of offering say 10 of a stamp when there is no hope of accumulating more. We think we have the answer.

We propose to send out weekly emails of items that fall into this frustrating shortage. We can only do this if we have your email address. Just email your name (and your postal address if you wish to receive our postal flyers!) to;

ITEM 1
Edward VII – Somerset House Printing You may not be aware that three different stamp printers were used to print British stamps during the reign of Edward VII. Although De La Rue printed all stamps initially, in 1911 this changed and both De La Rue and Somerset House were used instead. This offer comprises the low value stamps printed at Somerset House between 1911 and 1913. In the catalogue these are numbered between SG287 and SG314 and comprise 8 different face values. Whilst different shades exist, time does not allow us to classify these for you, but you will get one example of each of the 8 stamps. The Somerset House printings are quite different to the usual De La Rue ones as regards both shade and printing and provide a fascinating area for study. The cheapest shades of these stamps catalogue a whopping £280, so this unit represents 2 selections / items and excellent value.
A basic set of 8 Edward VII Somerset House stamps for £39.90

Stocks of this offer are limited to the first 40 customers and it will sell out! The 1981 Royal Wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer saw a number of Commonwealth countries issue sets of stamps. This offer is an interesting one as it comprises 3 stamps overprinted SPECIMEN from 8 different commonwealth countries or territories in unmounted mint condition. These specimen stamps were used for publicity purposes and for UPU distributions as examples of issued stamps. Only three stamps from each country are included. The illustrations are a representation of what you may expect to receive, you may not receive all of the countries illustrated but you will get a good proportion of them. A nice collectable assembly.

ITEM 6
The Seahorse stamps first issued in 1913 are some of the most sort after of all British issues. They were printed in several different formats and these include the last set issued in 1934 known as the reengraved issues. These are readily discernible from their predecessors as the back ground portrait contains a distinctive cross hatching of both horizontal and diagonal lines. These 3 stamps catalogue £180, and we are able to offer them as a triple lot, ie £57.50 post free, in sound used condition.
We only have 30 available, and strongly recommend you respond promptly to this offer.

ITEM 8
This offer provides a further opportunity to collect a splendid series of covers issued to commemorate the First World War. We have previously offered covers 1 to 8, which remain available as a double offer post free, and now offer covers 9 - 12, as a new £19.95 item, or 9 - 16 as a double item post free. The covers tell the story of the war through philatelic eyes, with a variety of postmarks and cachets, and approximately half the covers bear relevant signatures too. The covers have all been flown, and fittingly the majority feature illustrations of the pioneer RAF days within the copious varieties of imagery that adorn these fascinating items. We have no hesitation in recommending them generally but in particular to those whose collections feature British and World history. WW1 covers 9- 12 inclusive for £19.95 plus £1pp, or WW1 covers 9-16 for £39.90 post free, or for those who missed the first offer, covers 1 - 16 inclusive for £75 post free. For 9-12 add a quantity of 1 to the cart, a quantity of 2 for 9-16 with a quantity of 4 for 1-16.
