£19.95 SELECTION J

Dear Client,

We have been searching and accumulating and think that the batch of flyers that we are sending out over the next few weeks are really  some of our best yet.

We are keeping the letters brief this month as the request which we are making is the primary message.

Many of you have access to email. We are constantly frustrated when we have only small stocks of items suitable for these special offers by finding ourselves caught between two stools. Not enough stock to justify an offer on its own, and no suitable way of offering say 10 of a stamp when there is no hope of accumulating more. We think we have the answer.

We propose to send out weekly emails of items that fall into this frustrating shortage. We can only do this if we have your email address. Just email your name (and your postal address if you wish to receive our postal flyers!) to;

Our mini collection this time around has a distinctly Pacific flavour. It will provide you with £45 catalogue of unmounted mint sets from Australia, Australia Antarctic Territory, Papua, and The Cook Islands. We can do a double lot of £90 catalogue with no duplication whatsoever for £39.90 if you want to take advantage of the availability of these strong countries. Just add a quantity of '2' in the cart for a double lot.

ITEM 2
This is a very interesting offer. During the George VI period the printer Waterlow & Sons were asked to submit some designs for some new definitive stamps for approval. These ‘essays’ were not selected or ‘unadopted’ as it is sometimes described, for stamp production but are of great interest to George VI collectors. Occasionally these unadopted essays are offered at auction and can fetch high prices. We have recently purchased a small number of these available in two colours: red and purple. These essays are in perfect unmounted mint condition and will add a little spice to any George VI collection. George VI essay in red or purple for just £19.95 or both for £39.90 post free.

ITEM 3
This is something we have not been able to offer in quantity before: Great Britain postage Dues. There have been several different sets of these since 1914 with various watermarks etc. What is on offer here is SG D1/8 a complete basic set of the very first Postage Dues issued, being the 1914 – 22 cypher watermark set, plus SG D27 /34 again a complete set of 8 stamps of the George VI set. Between them these two sets catalogue £50 and trust us when we say that in general GB Postage Due stamps are far more difficult to obtain than the catalogue suggests. Two complete Postage Due sets used for £19.95

ITEM 4
It is almost a year since we last had enough of a range of Birds stamps to include them in our special offers. This is probably the most popular thematic available and they have always been immensely popular, so we have spent a fair amount of time ensuring that there’s a depth of stock available. It’s impossible to say that these wont include some sets that we have previously included, but there should be more than enough new to interest customers who have chosen these selections before, and if you are a relatively new customer you can be absolutely assured of a pleasing assortment at half catalogue or under. Stamps pictured are indicative of what can be expected but will vary according to stock. Single lot cat £40, £19.95 plus £1pp, or double lot catalogue £80 for £39.90 post free

For Channel Island collectors this time around it’s over to Jersey for a new selection. The offer consists of the complete yearsets of commemoratives for 1989 and 1990, all in perfect unmounted mint condition. These usually run out, and whilst they can be replenished, early ordering is advised to avoid any delay to your order.

ITEM 6
This is a first time of offering for this particular item. We have been steadily accumulating Definitive First Day Covers for some time, and the range that we have is now pretty impressive. Covers will range across the last 40 years since the inception of the Machin designs, predecimal issues. For your £19.95 you’ll receive 20 different clean covers, which will provide the basis of a reasonable starter collection of these interesting issues, at a bargain price of under £1 each. 20 different definitive covers for £19.95.

ITEM 7
This offer provides a further opportunity to collect a splendid series of covers issued to commemorate the First World War. We have previously offered covers 1 to 16, which remain available, and now offer covers 17-20, as a new £19.95 item, or 17 -24 as a double item with 8 covers included postfree. The covers tell the story of the war through philatelic eyes, with a variety of postmarks and cachets, and approximately half the covers bear relevant signatures too. The covers have all been flown, and fittingly the majority feature illustrations of the pioneer RAF days within the copious varieties of imagery that adorn these fascinating items. We have no hesitation in recommending them generally but in particular to those whose collections feature British and World history. WW1 covers 17 -20 inclusive for £19.95 plus £1pp, or WW1 covers 17 -24 for £39.90 post free. For those who missed the previous offers just add a quantity of '6' in the cart for covers 1 - 24 inclusive for £110 postfree.

ITEM 8
This is a great way to collect a complete unit of Machin variations without the headache and shoe leather costs involved in picking them up piecemeal. In about 1979, Royal Mail started to issue stamps on phosphorised paper instead of relying entirely on stamps with phosphor bands. These stamps can easily be distinguished from more recent issues as they do NOT have the elliptical perforations that are currently in use. They form a complete series ranging from sg x924/993, a total of 70 different machins which takes it into double offer territory for just £39.90 postfree. ( N.B Quantity of 2 selected for the cart to add the correct value of this double lot.)

ITEM 9
The success of this unit in the past has prompted us to re-build our stocks, and once again we have two offers of either Welsh or Scottish cylinder blocks. 12 blocks - 24 if you want to double up - are from both decimal and pre decimal periods, and you’ll receive all different examples, which may include different cylinder numbers and phosphor varieties, as well as watermarked and unwatermarked paper varieties. 12 different regional cylinder blocks for £19.95 + £1 pp or 24 for £39.90. Please indicate clearly on the order form which option or options you require. You can choose from either or both regions.
